Brant Aquarium Society

Hard to believe that summer is nearly over.  We have been fortunate with good weather and hopefully it will continue into September.  It’s been a very busy time.  I have spent most of the summer packing, moving and getting organized.  I had no idea it would be so much work to move my fish.  For now they are all settled into their new fishroom.  Of course, I’ve added a few new friends, some loaches (after I was inspired by Zenin) and some show worthy danios and platys. I dabbled a little in the pond side of the hobby with two small container ponds with goldfish and guppies and one 300 gallon pond where my swordtails, mollies barbs and Jerry's cichlids cohabitated nicely.  It was a lot of fun.

BAS has successfully won the bid to host the 2011 CAOAC convention May 20-23.  It will be held at the Brant Park Inn.  We have started planning for the event and encourage everyone to join in, share ideas and help out.  (see flyers posted on website for more details and updates)

Now that fall is on the way, we head back into fish club season.  Monthly meetings, club auctions and club shows.  BAS has some exciting speakers planned for our monthly meetings and the schedule will be posted as dates are confirmed.  Please let me know if there is anything you’d like to have a speaker topic on.  This month's speaker is Klaus Steinhaus.  He will be speaking on C.A.R.E.S - Conservation awareness recognition encouragement and support.  I'm looking forward to an exciting year.

We also want to increase knowledge in the habits, breeding and care of tropical fish and to exchange ideas for the benefit of all hobbyists. It is through the participation of the members and their guests that we may achieve our goal. We ask that you support your club by active participation.
